  • "Too many years fighting back tears, why can't the past just die? . . . Try to forgive, teach me to live. Give me the strength to try! No more memories, no more silent tears. No more gazing across the wasted years. . ." (Andrew Loyd Weber)

So Megan and I went and saw the Phantom of the Opera at the dollar theatre. Once again I will resist the urge (because I don't have time) to go off on tangents on all the themes that make it such a wonderful musical. (ex. America's love of the mask) "Masquerade! Paper faces on parade. Masquerade! Hide your face so the world will never find you . . ." Anyway. I love that movie. I remember when I was 6 and was madly in love with Christine and her long dark hair. I had a babysitter named Christy who I also had a crush on. Christy Robbins. lol. She used to let us play with her massive collection of trolls. Now she is married with kids of her own.

Now I am left waiting for the park bench scene that I have played in my head over and over. I, a grad student in Boston, will be walking through the park when I see her sitting there on a bench. *details omitted* We'll have lunch, do the wooing thing, get married, and live happily ever after. Megan seemed to think that scene wasn't acceptable the way it was, so she tried to change it on the bus. Which was when this strange guy on the bus came over and just randomly intruded on our conversation. It was strange. But I kinda felt sorry for the kid. hmm.

It's so strange being one week and a day away from the last day here at BYU for 2 and a half years. Everything is ending, and it's too late to get involved in anything new.

"Open up your mind, let your fantasies unwind, In this darkness that you know you cannot fight . . . Let your mind start a journey through a strange new world. Leave all thoughts of the life you knew before. Let your soul take you where you long to be" (Andrew Loyd Weber)

  • I really liked Phantom-it was great. and I really like your park scene-it's sweet. I was just saying, you know, hypothetically, what if it was martha stewart?! ok, so I really hope it's not martha for your sake, but still-anything is possible. that kid was strange-I felt sorry for him too. I think I've seen him once before on that bus...hmmm.

  • The Phantom of the Opera is great!  If you liked the movie the play is even more awesome.  I heard the actual book that it is based off of isn't as great though.  I am thinking of reading it anyways to see for myself though.

  • did I mention I emailed Mr. A and, well he said "say hi to all our mutual friends" and so he says hi, and i gave him quick updates about like you jill julie etc. anyway.......i have every intention of seeing you before you go on that mission of yours. plus, i have a feeling i'll be a little less necessary to you in those conditions, but you'd better keep in touch anyway. now i'm just procrastinating...

  • The movie was better then I expected, but it's the best live.  If you're ever in New York, see it on Broadway, it's amazing!  : )
