You know I used to get so frustrated when people would claim that Latter-day Saints were not Christians. Today I was starting to get upset about it again because someone came onto my site and left an anti-Mormon comment. I went to his site where the first post presented things about my Church that were not true. I politely refuted his comments, pointing out how his sources were unreliable and not accepted on a scholarly stand point. I also bore testimony of Jesus Christ. He deleted my comment, and so I got frustrated. Then I realized that the real thing that frustrates me is ignorance. It drives me nuts when people make statements based on ignorance, and this is one of those examples of ignorance. It doesn’t take much scholar to realize that Latter-day Saints are Christians. Read the article I wrote called Are Latter-day Saints Christians? if you want to know why. Realizing that helped me not be frustrated any more because it is his problem, not mine. Besides, in a way Anti-Mormon literature has done us more good than harm. Read this article about that.
It all boils down to this: A Christian is not defined a Christian by what Church he goes to. It is how one lives his life that makes him a Christian. Are there nonChristian Mormons? Yes! Are there nonChristian baptist? YES! Ask my friends if I’m Christian. Ask my friends if I believe in Jesus Christ and put my trust in Him, because I will tell you right now, I believe in Jesus Christ and I put my faith in Him.
If you read the Book of Mormon thoroughly, then you will find that it could not have been written by Joseph Smith. It is clear that the book came from direct inspiration, which leaves two options: inspiration from God, or inspiration from Satan. I’ll let you ask God Himself which one it is after you read it, but consider this. Would Satan inspire a book that’s self declared purpose is to convince all men that Jesus is the Christ. Would Satan inspire a book that teaches men how to avoid the snares of the devil, how to escape temptation, and encourages all people to put off the temptations of Satan and turn instead towards obedience to the laws of God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Would Satan inspire a book that helps people become better people?
The Book of Mormon testifies of Jesus Christ, and I likewise add my personal witness. I testify that Jesus is the Christ, that He atoned for our sins, and that He lives. I leave you that testimony in His name.

this is the best xanga entry i have ever read in my life. thank you.
You know Dan, if it’s one thing I respect about you it’s your convinctions and your passion. That’s two things, isn’t it? Keep up the awesomeness.
Amen.
thats a really cool entry
my friends still beleive that we beleive only 10000 people can go to heaven…i
its sad
heh heh heh, how do these guys find you!?
Dan… that’s what I have always loved about you…. you don’t deal with crap from anyone…
good news. i talked to that guy who said we werent christians on your xanga. he apologized for what he said, saying that his words came out totally wrong and that attacking you was wrong too. i told him our beliefs and he now accepts the fact that we are christians. he wanted me to tell you that he is sorry for being a jerk.
Hey I am sorry in the way I conducted myself in how I prestended things.. it was disrespectful, that is why i took the post down my intentions were of good but came out in wrong. I do still stand by my believe but in a respectful way. I have read your comment and I thank you for your reply of reason. I will get back to you about your written article respectfully through reason, I will not be able to right way because I am swamped this week with a Microbiology test and Organic Chem test. I thank you for you article because it also gives me a chance to understand mormonism better… I know I can read books on it, but what better way to understand than through talking with someone that is a mormon. Once again I am sorry for the way I conducted myself earlier.

you friend stormin1017 is sadly mistaken … I did apologize to him and you on the way I conducted myself but I never told him that I believe that Mormons are Christians. I do not know if he just misunderstood our short conversations or wants to take credit for “converting a Christian”… either way I really don’t care… Let it be clear that my stance is that Mormons are not Christians … I also found your essay interesting but faulty and will have my refute done in a short amount of time… but once again so that it is clear, I do not believe that Mormons are Christians. I do not mean this to but rude, You know my position and I am just correcting what was said in the post above by your friend. This is not an attack on you. Also it is interesting that he really didn’t tell me anything about your beliefs as he stated… it was like a 4 minute conversation on AIM, where I asked him to apologize to you for me for only the way in which I conducted myself… I would have liked it if he would have explained “His Beliefs” but after I asked him one question about revelations and Him saying that he believes that “The Bible” is corrupt from being passed down from kings and priests … That was the only thing he mentioned about “His Beliefs” and then he quickly said he had to go to be and then signed off… but the part of me apologizing was correct on his post.

*** He(stormin1017) quickly said he had to go to bed** and then signed off…
Thank you for your politeness. Do not fear, I knew better than to believe that your opinion had changed. I took into account the fact that Stormin was speaking for you, and I assumed that there would be a difference in what he thought and what you thought. I also want to make a note that the beliefs of any one person do not necessarily reflect the beliefs of the group at large to which he is a part. Latter-day Saints do not believe that the Bible is corrupt.
Hey thanks, I figured you would understand that Stormin had quoted me…. Also I personally did not take and truth in what he said as in “him speaking for mormons in general”. I do not think that mormons think that the bible is corrupt.. in my reply (now thinking on the word refute… sounds like I am attacking you which I am not) .. so back to the reply… I will have it finished some time I would say in like 2 weeks… i do not mean the time to show that the topic does not have importance to me but I am studying like crazy to try to get a 4.0 this semester and currently have a C in microbiology and the rest are A’s.. its just a hard class for me and is taking up so many hours of studying… So I will get my reply finished hopefully soon… I read the points you have stated and agree that they are needed… there is one thing though… if I say what a mormon beliefs I will have it properly quoted from the book of mormon so that it is not me interpreting hear say which hear say is unreliable to say the least… I know you know what you believe and I do not intend to put words into your mouth in anyway, that would just be wrong….. for ex. I am going to state that Mormons indeed do believe in Jesus, that Jesus is the son of God, that He came to earth and died for our sins… ect… now would that bother you that I say that? Also I ask that one more thing that we in no way take bits and pieces from what each other say to misrepresent what the other has said…. I.E. taking a sentence here and a sentence there and quoting them and say see here this is what he wrote and what he believes .. when that misrepresents what the person is really saying… Thanks
