Friday:
Friday was awesome. After English I was in an especially good mood, I can’t remember why. I ate lunch with Chantelle, and then Charlie and I hopped on a bus to find a costume shop. We got on the wrong direction and took a 45 min. detour, but eventually we found the Tailor Maid Cosume Rental Shop. There I paid an arm and a leg for a spiderman costume.I had been looking all over for a spiderman costume. I really really really wanted to be spiderman even though I knew it wasn’t original this year. I was so happy to find a place that wasn’t sold out.

So then I watched Spiderman the movie- had to get in the mood and all. Then I put on my super sexy spidy suit and was off to the dance. The dance was a ton of fun.

Saturday:
I got dressed up as Spiderman again, this time for tricker treating. The kids came through the dorms- it was cute. I missed home though, and wasn’t feeling that chipper.Sunday:
My Sunday School lesson went really well.I ate dinner at Julie’s house, which was nice. I enjoyed eating some homemade food and being with family. After that I got asked to preference.
I came home to find a note on my door asking me to preference annonymously. That person’s name who was asking me was in the day room. So were 15 other names. Apparently a bunch of us guys were asked and we had to guess by who. We didn’t like that so much
so we negotiated and got them to tell us that night.
Monday: Happy Birthday to Andrew.
Tuesday:
As my roommate and floormates will attest, I knew that the election wouldn’t be nearly as close as last year, and that Bush would clearly win. I was pleased to find out that I was right.I think it’s clear that the demacrats will have to stop isolating the moral majority. I also think that it’s clear that the Republican’s are trusted more with the military because they are stronger with the military. So many people thought that after having all three branches dominated by the Right we would surely see the Demacrats take more seats and even the presidency, but they didn’t. The Right gained more! Again, I think it’s because the Demacrats just don’t appeal to most of America. (Sonarbison said it well)
So today I am happy that we have Bush for four more years, sad that I can’t go to the yellowcard concert because of my English class, happy that I am going to see Walter Rane tomorrow, and sad about a few other things.
Later. Facebook me!

Dan, I appreciate very much your thorough comment that you left on my site. I see that we fundamentally disagree with some things, and I don’t expect we will reach common ground. I respect very much that hold strong with your opinion, and I hope that you also respect that I will not waver from mine.
I agree that we do know President Bush, where he stands on issues and the way he may act when put in certain situations. Therefore, I have seen his stance on issues and the way he intends to act. I have seen it, so I can say I disagree with it.
I did not defend or praise Kerry as you alluded. You will see that what I wrote about this election was not pro-Kerry. I am not pro-Kerry. I agree that he may not have been a good choice, that we do not know, as you said. But I’ll tell you I am anti-Bush, which means I am pro-the-other-guy. It happened to be John Kerry. Who knows how that might have been, but I saw the Bush years and frankly, they scared me.
Dan, I have lived in another country for the past year or so. I have seen a more global perspective than probably most Americans and I am telling you, America should not be so arrogant as to assume it knows what’s best. We have to consider the big picture, which means including the globe. We live in an a world being taken over by global, transnational corporations. We have to learn to get along, and we are alienating people. They do not respect us just because we think we are right. That is something to think about.
Anyway, I could go on. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts with me. I enjoying talking with you and hearing your perspective. Both my mother and my brother share your thoughts, but I much prefer your civilized discourse to their raging loudness!
Have a great night.
Lisa.
I hate being political, but I’ve been hearing this a lot, and I have something to say about it:
I think it’s clear that the demacrats will have to stop isolating the moral majority.
I really hope that you’re not insinuating that people who voted for Kerry are the opposite of the “moral majority.” What’s more, I really hope you’re not insuating that the 49% of the country that didn’t vote for Bush are the opposite of the “moral majority.”
Didn’t you hear the remarks Bush made during his acceptence speech addressing those who didn’t vote for him?
When we come together and work together, there is no limit to the greatness of America.
We have one country, one Constitution and one future that binds us. To make this nation stronger and better, I will need your support, and I will work to earn it.
And then there is what Kerry said:
We talked about the division in our country and the need, desperate need, for unity. …Today, I hope we can begin the healing.
I, as someone who voted for Kerry, and as someone who believes in liberal values, whether they be part of the “moral” majory’s, am going to support an America that can coexist together.
Any leader we have is going to do his or her best to protect America. I think that’s a hands down given. I believe that we should be protecting America by working globally to ensure our reputation, and stemming from that, our security.
I disagree, also, with the position that Bush has on gay rights. I think it unfair that the ‘moral majority’ has, in many states, including Michigan (where I am right now), taken away the option for gay couples to have civil unions. Whether or not you believe homosexuality is moral or not, lifetime partners should be given inheratence and hospital visitation rights, just to name a few.
Don’t say that 49% of the country has attempted to isolate the other 51%. Look at the other side of every issue so that you have the ability to be a part of the unified America that both Bush and Kerry were speaking of yesterday. Furthermore, don’t call all those who have voted for President Bush members of the “moral majority.” There are moral liberals and conservatives, and immoral liberals and conservatives. Those who are moral, on each side, are seeking a better life for themselves and their loved ones, but through two different ideologies.
Don’t make the mistake of saying that one American is more moral than other based on who they voted for.
Also, I hope you’re having fun in school … done any writing as of late?
