  • Wow. I just bought the Spiderman 2 Soundtrack and can I say it is amazing. So amazing. Biggest Amazing ever. Amazing. Alright I’m done. But no really, Vindicated by Dashboard is soooo passionate (charactiztic of them), and Oridnary by Train still gives me the shivers, Gifts and Curses by Yellowcard is in the new top ten in my book of favorites, The Photograph Is Proof by Taking Back Sundays is really good, and so is The Night That The Lights Went Out in NYC by the Ataris. Everyone go out and buy the Spiderman 2 soundtrack now! I don’t know what it is, but I am really drawn to the themes of the music, so I am really excited for the movie. And as for all the good music out there now, it’s driving me crazy cause it’s making me act crazy cause it’s almost intoxicatingly sweet and there is so much of it. Dan is happy.

“I am flawed/But I am cleaning up so well/I am seeing in me now the things you swore you saw yourself”- Dashboard Confessional

“I see your face with every punch I take, and every bone I break is all for you” -Yellowcard

    “. . . But I have a purpose . . . And I have to fight this . . . this villain I can’t knock down.” – yellowcard

  • Thanks for the comment. The Spiderman CD is pretty good. I really like Vindicated.

Kinda off topic, but . . . So you’re Mormon. Have you heard about the Temple their building in Manhatten? I read something on it.

  • Yeah, it’s really cool actually cause it’s different from all the other Temples ever built before. It’s kinda like the Hong Kong Temple, but it’s really unique.

USA Today had a good article about the Manhattan temple you might be interested in.

  • Cool Article, but I have a question. Why aren’t nonmormons allowed inside Temples? Shouldn’t visitors be welcome in all of Christ’s Churches?

  • On Temples. One thing to remember about Temples in the Chuch of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is that they are different from regular Churches. Temples are for special occasions like Weddings or special opportunities to learn. Churches, on the other hand, are where Latter-day Saints meet every Sunday to worship, learn about Jesus Christ, and partake of the Sacrament. Churches are also used during the week for regular meetings, like youth group or boy scouts, etc. Visitors are warmly welcomed into any LDS Church or meetinghouse.

Only the Priest were allowed into the inner sancuaries of the ancient Temple of Jerusalem. Today our Church has what is called a lay ministry, where all of it’s members who live righteously are part of the ministry. This is how I am a Priest. Following ancient tradition, as a Priest I would be allowed into the Temple.

Contrary to popular believe not all Mormons are allowed into the Temple, rather, all people who contain a Temple recomend are allowed. A Temple recommend is given to those who live their lives in accordance to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. No man who doesn’t hold the Priesthood is given a Temple recommend. Does that make sense?

One of the reasons we are so picky about who goes into the Temple is because we believe that it is literally the Holy House of God, and “no unclean thing” can withstand the presense of God.

The Ordinances of the Temple are very sacred, and thus are conducted privately and talked about only in the most sacred manner. They are not, however, secret. They are maintained on public files.

We believe that the Temple is a very sacred place, and so it is worth living the righteous lifestyle required to reep it’s blessings.
