(Edit: Don't forget to come hear me speak in Church this Sunday!!!!)
I'm mad that it was not cold enough today. lol. (maybe it's cause it's Friday the 13th.)
Yesterday I went to Heather's to say goodbye. Before that I took my sister shopping cause we each needed a pair of jeans. I have a new found respect for her (and for most women in general for that matter). It took us 3 hours to find one pair for her. Whereas I bought the third pair I picked out at American Eagle. With Karen it either fit her and was cut horrible or else didn't fit her but was cut nice or else was cut nice and was the wrong color etc. etc.
I discovered a couple of things. Like how there's no such thing as regular rise jeans for girls. I'm serious. There's low rise, extra low rise, and extreme low rise. (some stores carry super low rise). American Eagle had one style that was "modest" (stretching the word). There were two color selections (both ugly) and they looked like tom boy pants.
So we went to Hollister. Two of the people working at hollister were LDS (well kinda, one is not anymore, but her brother is Adam- the one who just left on his mission the same day as Jeff). Anyway, I thought that if I asked them where to find modest jeans they could tell me. One looked at me sadly, and the other just laughed.
At Gap the service was hideously horible, and there was not a good selection in jeans.
Express surprised me. They had like 3,000 pairs of jeans, and I think my sister tried on half of them. They were very helpful, and so after shopping for 3 hours the people at Express found us the one pair that fit both Karen's body and her standards.
But anyway, it was a great bonding experience, and she and I had a good time (No, Heather, you do not need to pity her because I was not unbearable, in fact she wants to do it again).

Yeah, went shopping today and I actually found a pair of jeans that fit....amazing. I was in shock. My brother and I used to go shopping, he's getting home from his mission in November (well, December now, he lengthened it...ugh). Tata~

I want my brother to take me shopping! What a good brother you are! And yes, finding jeans *and* shirts that cover your tummy is *soooo* hard to find. No fun at all. Anywho, goodluck on your talk on Sunday!

You have to speak in church this sunday too? geez.
oh Dan...you're such a good brother.
I can't say I've ever looked for jeans that cover my stomach...but then again Karen's standards a bit higher than mine, I'm sure. She should try just ordering off something like Gap.com because if they don't fit, you can return them to any store very easily.
& I know my sister's jeans are always too big on her & like, cut too high.
Modesty sure is hard to come by. Isn’t it strange during the summer time most chicks strip down to barely anything, whereas the guys wear large, baggy clothing year-round?
Yes, I guess you can say I'm a libertarian. Any form of political philosophy that tries to enforce social or economic morality on the public is somewhat reminiscent of what Lucifer proposed in the pre-existence.
Do you consider Mitt Romney a conservative? His pop ran for president back in ’68, but his campaign collapsed because of that “brainwashed” remark.
Major props for going jeans shopping with a girl. There are not enough men in this world brave enough to take on such a mission. I'm a girl, and sometimes I'm not brave enough either. Jean shopping is SUPER hard. When I go to Utah I'm gonna stock up. If they don't have good Jeans there.....I don't know where they can be found.
good job taking ur sis shopping!!! not many ppl r that close with there siblings! im glad mi n my sisters r...its nice she made sure they were modest..we need more ppl in the world like that!!!
Word to the wise - the service at Gap is ALWAYS horrible.... Everytime I shop there I have to wait in line forEVER because no one that works there really pays attention to anything... But whatever - I am down with their clothes.... Also, not all girls take that long to shop - tell your sis to try lookin' for jeans at Vanity or Maruices - they both have good jeans (good styles and colors) and you can always find modest ones!
Have a great Saturday!!!!
** sorry, that's "MAURICES" not "MARUICES"
um, karen is the coolest...and frankly, so are you...so there ya go
I can see where you’re going with agency and rules. However, it is not the government’s responsibility to enforce morality on its citizens. We have the Church to set forth standards on morality and it’s our choice whether or not to adhere to them. The Savior himself stated that we “render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s; and unto God the things that are God’s” (Matt. 22:21)
For example, think about prohibition. How meaningful would the Word of Wisdom be if we followed it based on fear of incarceration, rather than desire to accept Gospel standards?
Besides, most of these “social conservatives” like Jerry Falwell and Hal Lindsay think you and I are going to Hell. That said, don’t expect an LDS president any time soon.
I’ll see you in DT in about a week or so.
10 days, Wahoo!
Good luck on your talk, and thanks for the well-wishing!
HolleR at giving talks! Good job!
