Don't try to analyze a chick flick- it doesn't work. I'll get back to that.
Today was pretty fun. Went to Wendys and Hobby Lobby with my family- did some chores, then ran over to Andy's to meet him and Adam. We went to some place in Arlington Hights to return Adam's broken playstation steering wheel/pedal. I had promised Whitney that I'd do something with her today, so we grabbed a bite to eat and she convinced me to see "View from the Top." All I can say is wow. I'm the kinda person who analyses movies- well, I tried. I tried to find something deep- to find some foreshadowing, or at least some symbolism. There was none. The movie was so predictable it was sick. Oh well- I guess it wasn't that bad . . . well I got to get to bed, bye
Andy found this article yesterday that really made me mad. The article is on CNN- "Step away from the freedom fries". The basic argument of the article is that the rift between France and the United States will hurt our economy. *SNARL* That is so wrong it's sick! So what if the French are boycotting McDonalds; Who cares if we waste French wine. Personally I think it's a good thing to get rid of wine- but aside from that, there is a need to support OUR nation.
Many of you have heard the Dixie Chicks and their Anti-Bush speaches and Anti-War protest. They have made it clear that they will not support the president nor his war nor his government. They are ashamed of him. I swear I will never listen to another Dixie Chicks song again. I commend the radio stations that have boycotted their songs.
There is nothing wrong with walking out on something that goes against what you believe. When the colonist boycotted Brittish Imperialist goods, were they worried that it would hurt they're economy? No! And if the french want to boycott American products because we are at War with a Latter-Day Hitler, who cares? I don't agree with them, but I think they have the right to boycott what they think is wrong without us being afraid of the economy. I don't think we should try to tone down our feelings just so that we can make more money. Nor do I think we are in any economic danger (aside from the recession Clinton started).
I don't know about you, but I am PROUD of freedom fries. I don't mean to diminish any kind of culture, but I do mean to avoid the that which supports things that I believe are wrong. I believe in supporting good things, and boycotting the bad. *sigh* But what can you do. ~More political opinions on my AIM profile~
